Getting Started
What is the morning briefing?
When you open TrafficVibe, the first thing you see is a plain-language read of your commute with the most important issue called out first — how the roads are running, what’s slowing you down, and whether now is a good time to leave. There are no dials to decode; it just tells you what your drive looks like and what to do about it.
How does TrafficVibe know the best time to leave?
The app builds an hourly outlook of how your drive changes through the day and compares it against a typical baseline, then highlights the usual rush-hour windows. When waiting a few minutes means a meaningfully faster trip, it says so, so you can pick your smoothest departure.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes, for live traffic, weather, and map data. If you’re offline, TrafficVibe shows the last cached reading with a “last updated” badge rather than a blank screen.
How much does TrafficVibe cost?
TrafficVibe is free from the App Store. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads.
Commute Life Indices
What do the colors mean?
Every index reads at a glance: green for good or clear, yellow for caution or moderate, red for bad or act now. A given color means the same thing in every city — only the wording of the advice adapts to your situation.
Why does an index say “no data”?
TrafficVibe never invents a number. When something genuinely can’t be measured for the city you’re viewing, that badge reads “no data” instead of showing a made-up rating. Availability varies by place — for example, fuel prices depend on a published price for your country, and some road-feature badges depend on how thoroughly your area is mapped. It’s not an error; it’s the app being honest.
What are the nineteen indices?
They’re grouped by what a commuter actually asks:

Where does the data come from?
TrafficVibe draws on trusted, established mapping, weather, and public-data sources for routing and ETAs, conditions, nearby road features, holidays, and fuel prices (shown in your local currency). Your briefing and its ratings are put together on your device — nothing about your commute is uploaded. For exactly what leaves your device and why, see our Privacy Policy.
Notifications
What alerts can I get?
Departure reminders, delay-spike warnings, and incident alerts. You control which ones are on from Settings.
How do I stop being nagged?
Set your own quiet hours and turn on the weekdays-only preference. TrafficVibe also remembers what it has already told you, so it won’t repeat the same warning twice.
Why aren’t my alerts firing?
TrafficVibe doesn’t refresh in the background — it evaluates alerts when you open the app or pull to refresh. Make sure notifications are enabled in Settings, and that you’re not inside your quiet hours or a weekday-only exclusion.
Commute Cities
How do commute cities work?
Add the places you travel to from the cities sheet on the dashboard. Each one becomes a route from your current city, unlocking door-to-door ETAs, delay alerts, and departure reminders. Switching between saved cities is instant.
Why can’t I add my current city as a destination?
A city that matches your current location is ignored, because a route from a place to itself has nothing to show.
Preferences
Can I change units and time format?
Yes. Settings holds one measurement-system choice (US Customary or metric) that governs distance, speed, and temperature together, plus a 12- or 24-hour time toggle. Appearance follows your system Light or Dark setting.
Troubleshooting
Conditions aren’t loading
Check that your device is connected to the internet, then pull down to refresh. If a source is temporarily unavailable, TrafficVibe serves the last cached reading with a “last updated” badge and retries on the next refresh.
A metric shows “no data”
This is by design when a source isn’t available for the selected city (see “Why does an index say ‘no data’?” above). It is not an error — the app is simply refusing to guess.
The app is crashing or freezing
Make sure you’re running the latest version from the App Store, then force-close the app and reopen it. If the problem continues, restart your device. If it still persists, please contact us below.

TrafficVibe requires iOS 26.0 or later and runs on both iPhone and iPad.
